From Time Square
to Medina
A vision that spans between two worlds, from the metropolises to the countryside. Despite their differences, they share a few commonalities.
Two cities, two vibes. Both are lively, but New York is the noisiest. Despite the presence of technology in Marrakech, there is a disturbing feeling of a 200-year gap in evolution between the two cities.
However, we find the same markers: parks, living spaces, covered markets on one side, and open-air markets on the other. Religion is very present in both New York and Marrakech, with calls to prayer marking the days in Marrakech.
These two seemingly diametrically opposed cities represent two visions that appear different, yet they seem so close.
Similarity. Whether modern or ‘artisanal’, poverty remains omnipresent, but it seems more raw, more harsh in modern NYC. In the Medina, on the other hand, there is no hesitation to expose one’s disabled old uncle. In both cases, the suffering is visible.
